We all love a good hot dog. Whether you’re at the ballpark or at home having a barbeque, hot dogs are a nice treat to have every now and then. Well just a heads up, based on a new study from the University of Michigan, for every hot dog you eat, you take about 36 minutes off of your life. As news of this study’s findings started spreading, a lot of the internet wasn’t concerned about themselves, but instead about professional eater Joey Chestnut.

The research from the University of Michigan ranked nearly 6000 foods based on their impact on human health. That research did not serve the hot dog justice, which could not have been good news for the world record holder in hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes. At the most recent Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island, Joey Chestnut ate 76 hot dogs. That’s already about 45 hours taken off his life according to this study’s findings. The internet then went wild with memes surrounding the hot dog eating champ.

Joey Chestnut was trending on twitter and eventually the immortal man himself responded to the study. Looks like he’s going to be eating more nuts.
