Rarely do we talk about suspensions during the NHL preseason, but earlier this week, Max Domi received a match penalty for sucker punching Aaron Ekblad.

On Thursday, the Department of Player Safety announced that Domi would be suspended for the rest of the preseason for what he did to Ekblad, who spoke about the incident and shared how he felt about the punishment for the first time.

Those are some strong words from Ekblad and now everyone will be anxiously waiting for December 28th to roll around to see these two teams square off for the first time in the regular season.

The good news, though, is that Ekblad is fine (aside being a little worse for wear) and in good spirits following what was a very controversial play that nobody ever wants to see in the sport we love.
