Anaheim Ducks forward Adam Henrique isn’t going anywhere.

Earlier today, the team announced that they signed Henrique to a 5-year, $29.1 million contract. Henrique had previously been traded to the Ducks from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenceman Sami Vatanen.

Adam #Henrique has signed a 5-year contract extension with the Anaheim #Ducks.

After closing the deal, the forward posted a photo of his young self rocking an old school Mighty Ducks hat. A young Adam can be seen in the photo with his brothers Mike and Cole, and a stick figure of his other sibling Shay (who clearly wasn’t born yet). Along with the photo, Henrique shared a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude up to this point in his career.

The following is a transcription from Adam Henrique’s Instagram account:

Always been a dream to play for the @anaheimducks and I’m excited to be staying for years to come! Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey thus far. Excited for many more great memories! PS. Had to draw in @shayhenrique.

Okay, so the photo is cute and all, but how 'bout that hat? Mighty Ducks lids aren’t that easy to find these days and if you’re able to come across one, they’re not exactly cheap. So hopefully the 28-year-old still has his.

After being sent to the Ducks last season, Henrique shined with 20 goals and 16 assists in 57 games. He should continue his success while playing with Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Jakob Silfverberg and Rickard Rakell.
