Technological advancements have changed the sports world in many ways and the changes aren't stopping anytime soon.  On Friday morning, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was at the NBA's Tech Summit and he introduced a "smart jersey" to everyone in attendance.

As you can see, the main feature of the smart jersey of the future is the ability to customize the name and number on the back of it with an app.

This jersey seems like the perfect solution for when a player gets traded or signs with another team.  Instead of having to go out and purchase a new jersey or never wear that jersey again, you could just change the name and number.

Between this jersey and the self-lacing basketball shoes that were unveiled by Nike not very long ago, the future is pretty exciting from a technological standpoint in the NBA.
