In the heat of the moment, it may have been a little bit of “in your face” gesture, but it’s all love between Patrick Kane and Auston Matthews.

In their last encounter on the ice, the two shared a special sort of moment when Matthews hammed it up after scoring, giving the “I can’t hear you” gesture to the crowd. The goal put the Leafs up 6-5 with just over a minute to go.

Not to be outdone, fellow American superstar Kane used that final minute to tie it up once again. Can you guess what celebration he opted for?

Yup, the exact same one.

The Leafs would have the last laugh as Morgan Rielly potted the OT winner. Until tonight, that is, when the two squads square off again.

Ahead of the rematch, Matthews, Kane, and a few others discussed the now-famous dueling celebrations.

Duelling celebrations with Kane something Matthews will always remember

The Maple Leafs and Blackhawks played a 7-6 OT-thriller in October that featured dueling celebrations from Auston Matthews and Patrick Kane. Matthews talked about the early-season game calling it ‘’something he’ll always remember.’’

It seems like it’s all love between the two Americans. After all, Kane was someone that Matthews grew up looking up to.
