In any sport, no coach ever wants to play shorthanded, but the world isn't perfect and teams have to deal with the consequences of taking a penalty or players getting ejected.

On Saturday, Alabama squared off against Minnesota in basketball at the Barclays Center and considering what happened in the game, the final score was a whole lot closer than anyone would have expected.

Alabama lost by just five points despite finishing the game extremely shorthanded.

In the second half after a made basket, some pushing and shoving broke out and the entire Alabama bench was tossed from the game.

Things went from really bad to way worse about midway through the second half as a Bama player fouled out, leaving the Crimson Tide with just 4 players.

With Alabama playing 4-on-5, the misery continued as one of their players got injured.

The Crimson Tide were forced to play 3-on-5 for over half of the second half, and while it was difficult to say the least, they only lost by five which is remarkable.

We've never seen anything like that before and we likely won't again, but it was entertaining to see to say the least and we would have loved to see Alabama win.

They didn't, though, but nobody cares about that loss because they did their best with 3 players and the Crimson Tide lost their first game of the year in football.

Down goes No. 1! Auburn wins the West, ending rival Alabama's 24-game SEC win streak.
