US forward Alex Morgan doesn’t have any regrets over her team’s excessive celebrations during their 13-0 beat down over Thailand.

The 29-year-old fired home five of her own and didn’t shy away from joining in on the action either. Despite receiving a great deal of criticism, Morgan came to her team’s defence, arguing that “these are goals they’ve dreamed of their whole life” and that she’s happy to just ignore the comments.

 

Just a friendly reminder that the US entered the tournament ranked first in the world while Thailand ranked 34th. Former Team Canada Women’s player Kaylyn Kyle didn’t could not have expressed a more opposite viewpoint from Morgan, going as far as saying she was disgusted by the excessive celebrations.

The Americans are set to take on Chile, who sit five rankings below Thailand at #39. It’ll be interesting to see how the Americans react if they start pouring it on early.
