Showtime released the premier episode of Season 4 on the popular television drama "Billions" on Sunday night.

If you're a sports fan and were watching, you would've heard the conversation between Bobby "Axe" Axelrod (Damien Lewis) and Bonnie Barella (Sarah Stiles) on comparing his work place to the Capitals deadly combination, and it's something hockey fans can all agree on: Nicklas Backstrom is a premier playmaker who helps Alex Ovechkin thread the mesh.

"Do you know why Ovi scores so much?" asks Axelrod to Barella. "Because Backstrom shares the puck."

Then, a BarDown reference, which is music to our ears.

"Yeah, but when he does, Ovi goes bar down. This lame loses the puck between his legs or air mails it into the glass."

How and why did Ovechkin and Backstrom's names make their way into the show? Screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien explained on Twitter after a Washington sports producer posed the question.

This isn't the first time "Billions" has referenced the sport. In a recent season, the Princeton men's hockey suited up in New York Islanders jerseys during for a practice scene at Nassau Coliseum.
