A lot of people doubted Alex Ovechkin heading into last season as he found himself ranked 20 or higher on most pre-season player ranking polls. Not only did he prove the doubters wrong by finishing with a league-high 49 goals and 87 points in 82 games, but he also captured his first career Stanley Cup.

Ovechkin spent a lot of time with the Stanley Cup after the Washington Capitals won it and he’s looking to recreate some of those memories next summer based on the intense workouts he’s putting in right now.

The soon-to-be 33-year-old took full advantage of the nice day and decided to take his extreme workouts outdoors for the day. After all, he did do more partying this offseason compared to ones in the past.

The 2018 Conn Smythe Trophy winner has scored 49 or more goals in four of the past five seasons and plans on doing whatever he can in his power to help the Capitals go back-to-back.
