Over his last two starts, New York Rangers goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has absolutely owned the Maple Leafs.

The first-ever Bulgarian-born NHL player notched 44 saves to help lead the Rangers to a 2-1 overtime win over the Buds on Saturday night.

Coming into the game, New York had only won one game since the trade deadline (1-6-4), riding a five-game losing streak where they failed to score no more than two goals in any of the outings with a team full of call-ups.

Georgiev registered only the second over-time win for the team in 22 attempts this season. Dating back to his February 10th outing against the Leafs, the 23-year-old has now stopped 99 of 101 shots he faced against the Leafs.

Speaking with Finnish reporter post-game, Georgiev compared beating them to winning hockey's ultimate prize.

Georgiev faced the Leafs in all three of their encounters against New York this year. In his first outing, he struggled by allowing four goals on 35 shots in a 5-3 loss , but if he can keep his resemble his strong play over his last two games against Toronto, he could carve out a pretty solid career in the NHL.
