Darren McFadden was a veteran professional football player and is likely nowhere close to thin in the pockets. He began the season with the Dallas Cowboys as backup to Ezekiel Elliott, and eventually was given some time lining up behind Dak Prescott. He announced his retirement from the NFL at the end of November and began living the laid-back, relaxed retirement lifestyle. Well, at least that’s what he was hoping for.

Instead, McFadden finds himself filing a lawsuit against his former business manager, Michael Vick (his name is just a weird coincidence, it’s not the former quarterback), as well as ten other members of the financial team. The suit is calling it “misappropriated and mishandled money” according to ESPN. The cause of the lawsuit? A Bitcoin venture gone wrong.

Apparently McFadden had wanted to invest $3 million into a Bitcoin venture before cryptocurrency had fully taken off. According to investment fraud attorney Chase Carlson, that amount invested at the supposed time would be worth almost a quarter of a billion dollars now, $237,000,000 to be more precise.

While you can sit around and complain about losing your fantasy football matchup, Darren McFadden will be kicking off his $15 million lawsuit, a cool $222,000,000 less than what he could have earned, not to mention the $3 million that he invested in the first place
