If you’re an Oilers fan right now, things are pretty good.

Up until their loss to the Chicago Blackhawks tonight, they were a perfect 5-0 to start the season, and people as just as surprised as they are happy for Connor McDavid and the gang.

Even though they dropped the game tonight, they’re still 5-1, which locks them up in an early-season four-way tie for second place in the entire league.

Which, of course, has some Edmonton hockey fans jumping to conclusions.

Yeah, it’s a little early to plan a parade, but when you’ve needed the tiniest  glimmer of hope for such a long time - it’s easy to get a little carried away.

In fact, fans are so pleased with the early season success, one of them even took to Facebook to plan an event in case they do win the Cup.

The event, created by Facebook user and presumed Oilers fan, Ryan Sgambaro, currently has 1,600 RSVPs and 1,800 people marked as ‘interested’. The big day is planned for June 20th, 2020.

You know what? Buy in, Oils fans.

We love a little optimism, and we think you guys deserve some success.
