Anders Lindback is back where it all started.

The 207th overall (7th round) pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft re-signed with the Predators organization this past summer after stops in Tampa, Dallas, Buffalo, Arizona and Rogle (SHL).

Lindback is backstopping the Preds AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, and was recently named to the AHL all-star game.

Prior to the all-star weekend in Utica, New York, Lindback was involved in a play that we’ve seen done before, but this one is a little different.

Just over midway through the second period in a game against the Ontario Reign (Los Angeles Kings) on Saturday night, Lindback and the Admirals were nursing a 1-0 lead. Ontario dumped the puck in behind Lindback’s net. The 29-year-old ‘tendy stopped it and mistakenly played it right up the middle into the slot for Michael Mersh to bury.

Lindback then went into full desperation mode and tried to sprawl out and make a save, but also pushed the net off its pegs onto the ice.

This was deemed an automatic goal because of former AHLer David Leggio, who famously dislodged the net on a breakaway years ago, and recently struck again in the DEL.

Unfortunately for Lindback and the Admirals, the goal proved to be costly, as they ended up losing 4-3. At least Lindback will enjoy some laughs about it at the all-star break.

Goalies gonna goalie, right?
