The Arkells have become the sound of sports over the past year and a half and itโs evident when you watch the Canadian athletes compete at this yearโs Winter Olympics or when they celebrate in the Canadian Olympic House.
What the band thought was just going to be another tweet on everyoneโs Twitter timeline, it ended up turning into a whole lot more as Air Canada reached out to the Hamilton rock band and teamed up with Team Canada to fly them out to South Korea for a performance.
After everyone realized that it wasnโt a prank, the Canadian athletes couldnโt help but express their excitement on Twitter.
A couple of weeks ago, the band announced a summer show in their hometown and got some help from Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir with the official announcement.
Itโs pretty awesome that the band that has become the sound of Canada and sports will now get a chance to perform for the Canadian athletes all the way in PyeongChang.
