When the Toronto Maple Leafs take the ice against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night, Auston Matthews will be rocking a pair of custom skates dedicated towards a truly good cause.

Per CCM Hockey, Matthews’ skates are a tribute to SickKids and the fight against cystic fibrosis, which is a genetic disease that causes damage to the respiratory and digestive systems. He’ll also have a custom stick to go along with the skates.

Matthews has been a frequent visitor to patients in SickKids’ cystic fibrosis ward over the years, so it isn’t surprising to see that he continues to show support, but doing so with custom gear is definitely a neat twist.
