All season long, Auston Matthews has been tying and breaking rookie records and it's been fun to watch for Leafs fans to say the least.

Matthews' incredible regular season success has carried over into the playoffs, too, and he's a big reason why the Leafs are going to Game 6 against the Presidents' Trophy-winning Capitals.

The #Capitals get a quick goal in OT to beat the #MapleLeafs 2-1 and take a 3-2 series lead.

Friday night in Toronto's 2-1 overtime loss to Washington, Matthews scored the Leafs' lone goal, making it three consecutive playoff games for him with a goal.

That stat put Matthews in some exclusive company, as per NHL Public Relations:

Alf Skinner was part of the Toronto Arenas team that won the Stanley Cup in 1918.

Walt Poddubny scored three goals in four games for the Leafs in their 1983 series against the Minnesota North Stars.

Finally, Wendel Clark scored 5 goals over 10 games during Toronto's 1986 Cup run which was ended by the Blues in seven games.

Matthews is hoping he joins Skinner as a Leafs rookie to raise the Cup, but in order to do that Toronto will have to win Game 6 and Game 7.
