The NHLPA released its 2020-21 player poll and it’s safe to say Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews had himself a year.

The 23-year-old finished in the top-five in numerous categories this year and managed to take home two very different ones. Right off the top, Matthews dethroned Alex Ovechkin as the NHL’s best goal-scorer with a whopping 46.27% of the votes (Ovi finished with 33.82%), which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering he captured the Rocket Richard Trophy with 41 goals in 52 games.

But maybe he should be prouder of his other win?

The San Ramon, California native was also tabbed as the most fashionable in the league with 21.16% of the votes, beating out David Pastnrnak who finished in second with 11.08% of the pie.

Henrik Lundqvist previously captured the category in the 2018-19 poll with 25.84% of the votes but captured just 5.04% this year. Had he participated in the full season though… maybe this one would have been different?

Sidney Crosby also managed to capture two categories, sharing most complete player with Patrice Bergeron and most superstitious player. Now we’ve got to ask… do you think Matthews is the most fashionable player in the NHL? For a look at all the results, click here.
