People pay a LOT of money to sit right behind the glass at a hockey game and part of what makes that experience fun is banging on the glass when the puck is tied up in front of you or banging on the glass in the penalty box at an opposing player.

Tuesday night in Colorado, however, we were reminded why banging on the glass might not be the best idea, unless you're a fan of shattered glass.

This is why you DON’T bang the glass at hockey games...@bardown

Matt Benning was in the penalty box for the Oilers when the glass broke and he actually had to serve the rest of his penalty on Edmonton's bench.

Aside from what looked like a few cuts from the glass, the fan was fine and that's all that matters.  Going forward, everyone should just be a little more careful when they bang on the glass because this is the last thing you want to happen.
