When Baker Mayfield was drafted first overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2018, it was a big gamble on whether or not he was going to be the face of a changing franchise.
You know as JuJu Smith-Schuster would say, the same old Browns.
With the luck of the Browns and their past busts, betting on Baker Mayfield had pretty much every Browns fan going all in. What was there to lose, right?
Well, three seasons later and their first playoff win since 1995, it’s safe to say Baker has the city of Cleveland absolutely loving him.
But we’re not quite sure he imagined back in 2018 that Dawg Pound members would take his appearance in Cleveland so strongly and name their offspring after him.
On Sunday, Browns fan Kyle Pringle shared the following tweet, stating that if Baker Mayfield replied to his tweet, his wife would be open to naming their child after the Heisman winner.
Honestly, if you want to name your child after your favourite athlete, especially one who has pretty much turned your franchise around in just a few years, then, by all means, name your kids Baker! Name them Kevin Stefanski while we’re at it!
Luckily for this fan, his wishes came true as Baker showed up to the party and joined in on the fun.
We guess we’ll have to stay tuned on whether or not the baby was named after Baker but we’re positive this won’t be the last child named Baker from the Ohio area.
