Well, if you were looking for some action on Wednesday afternoon then we definitely hope you tuned in for the Blue Jays vs. Rays game because let us tell you, the tension was definitely brewing this series.

On Monday evening, Kevin Kiermaier initially sparked the flame between the AL East division rivals, as a data card fell out of Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk’s wristband while tagging Kiermaier out at home, to which Kiermaier then took back with him to the Rays dugout.

When the Jays noticed that the card had fallen out, they had asked the Bat Boy to go and retrieve it which did not go down well.

As the series went on, it was pretty certain that something was going to unfold so when tensions flared during the bottom of the eighth inning in the final game of their series, we all pretty much seen this happening.

With Kiermaier up to bat and the Rays leading 7-1, Jays pitcher Ryan Borucki tossed a ball at his back which led for benches to clear. Following the altercation, umpire Joe West tossed Borucki which did not sit well at all with Jays pitching coach Pete Walker who definitely got fired up with their decision and ended up joining Borucki with an ejection of his own.

Though Jays fans definitely enjoyed seeing Pete Walker stand up for the Jays.

And of course, following the incident, Kiermaier himself touched on the moment briefly while discussing the Rays clinching the postseason.

It’ll be exciting to see if the Jays join the Rays in the postseason and see if this newfound rivalry grows.
