One night before the Home Run Derby took place, the MLB Celebrity Softball Game went down and it featured a number of big names such as Jessica Mendoza, Jennie Finch, The Miz, Tim Raines, Torii Hunter, and everyone's favourite scientist Bill Nye.

The 62-year-old is beloved and a self-admitted five-tool player in the worst way possible.

Apparently Bill underestimated his abilities, though, as he hit an opposite field single during the game and received the loudest ovation of the night from the crowd in attendance and his teammates.
Bill did strike out earlier in the game, but that hardly matters given the fact that he made up for it with a perfect rip.
If his outing taught us anything, though, it's that we need him to be in every MLB Celebrity Softball Game during All-Star weekend.
