Wednesday night was a night to forget for every single Boston Bruins fan as the Bruins came up on short on their home ice in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. While the party is well underway in St. Louis, fans in Boston are still trying to figure out what just happened and so are the players.

No one wants to interview the team that ends up on the losing side of a championship game, but it’s all part of the job. After Game 7 on Wednesday night, a reporter asked Brad Marchand about the game and the Bruins winger had to hold back tears while answering the question.

Just another reminder that professional athletes are regular human beings with feelings just like the rest of us. Fan of Marchand or not, you’ve got to feel for someone who just had their season end with a loss in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
