Shea Weber’s slap shot is no joke and there’s a long list of players who can tell you firsthand that it’s not something you want to stand in front of, by accident or on purpose.

On Thursday night the Montreal Canadiens blanked the Minnesota Wild, 4-0, and Weber finished the game with an assist and two shots. However, he would have had a few more shots on goal, or possibly even a few more points, if it weren’t for Wild forward Joel Eriksson Ek getting in the way of not one, but THREE Weber shots IN THE SAME SHIFT!

The 22-year-old put his body on the line for his team multiple times in just a few seconds and it put an end to his night as he left the game after that shift and did not return. After the game, TSN’s John Lu asked Brendan Gallagher about Eriksson Ek’s heroic shift and the Canadiens’ winger had nothing but praise for the youngster.

The Wild haven’t provided an update on Eriksson Ek, but he was spotted leaving the arena in a walking boot.
