The San Jose Sharks weren’t expected to be a Stanley Cup favourite this season, but a lot of hockey fans and analysts at least expected them to be in the playoff hunt.

However, this season has been a difficult one for Sharks fans as the team is well out of the playoff hunt and is looking like sellers heading up to the trade deadline.

On Monday afternoon, the Sharks fell short against the Florida Panthers and after the game defenceman Brenden Dillon couldn’t help but tear up when asked about the possibility of this being his final game as a Shark.

The Sharks acquired Dillon from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Jason Demers and a 2016 third round pick back in 2014, and he has missed just eight games in six years since he was acquired.
