When you hand out candy on Halloween you've got to do it right. There's no half-stepping. No one wants to be the house that gives away weird no-name brand candies. You strike to be the house that hands out king size bars, leading to kids labeling your house as the best on the night.

San Jose Sharks defenceman Brent Burns definitely wanted to go down as the best house on the night, because he want all out in the most Burnsie way possible. Thursday, Burns shared a few pictures from Halloween night, revealing his pirate costume, and the awesome treasure he was handing out to trick-or-treaters...beef jerky.

We don't think we've ever received beef jerky as a form of Halloween treat, but we definitely aren't opposed to it. Also, giving books to kids on Halloween? Stand-up move. Education and candy go hand-in-hand. If you're wondering who was handing out candy with Burns dressed up as Spider-Man, that would be his Sharks teammate Brendan Dillon.

They may be late entries in the 'best athlete Halloween' costume contest, but the belong in the top ten.
