Two all-star athletes linked up following WWE Raw on Monday night.

San Jose Sharks defenceman Brent Burns and his son had the opportunity to pose in a photo with wrestling legend John Cena after he took down ‘The Miz’ in an entertaining battle. The Burns were front and center for the night’s event.

Cena’s willingness to meet with his fans should hardly come as a surprise, considering he’s demonstrated one in the past. Just tonight after his match, he shared a special moment with a fan in the crowd.

Burns recently proved his love for the WWE when he was called out by Luke Harper of the Bludgeon Brothers on Twitter. In response to a tweet by Harper, the defenceman admitted he “would love to drop some elbows from the rope.

Sports personalities and athletes outside of wrestling have been known to make appearances in the WWE. In 2017, loud-mouthed basketball father LaVar Ball made his debut and Rob Gronkowski recently helped Mojo Rawley at WrestleMania. Instead of a photo, could Burns be making an appearance in the ring for his and Cena’s next encounter?

At 40 years old, Cena continues to prove that he’s one of the best wrestlers both in, and outside of the ring. We’re sure Burns isn’t the only NHLer who has wanted to take a photo with the legend either.
