Joe Thornton has generally been referred to as a playmaker throughout his 1,503 game career, but last night he made history in the goal-scoring department.

After teammate Joe Pavelski tied things up at 4s against the Nashville Predators on home ice, Thornton buried 13 seconds later to hit the 400 mark and eventually help the Sharks earn a 5-4 win. Waves of congratulatory messages poured in following the contest but the best came in the form of a tweet from his good pal Brent Burns, who shared some hearfelt words before posting a fantastic photo of the two.

Joe #Thornton finds the back of the net for the 400th time in his #NHL career!

If you’re wondering why Burns randomly decided to post a shirtless photo, it dates back to the two participating in ESPN’s “The Body Issue” from 2017. Can we take a moment to acknowledge how jacked Jumbo is for a dude in his late 30s? He probably shed a few pounds after shaving that beard though…

Here’s what some other notable members of the hockey world had to say after the goal:

With 400 goals and 1,032 assists, Thornton seems to be well on his way to the Hall of Fame. Winning a Stanley Cup alongside his Chewbacca looking friend would certainly erase any doubts.
