The Carolina Hurricanes won big over the Washington Capitals on Monday, which was a huge win for the team. Trailing 2-0 in the series, the ‘Canes didn’t want to give up the all-important first game at home and allow the Caps to take a strangle-hold of the series.

Even though the result on the scoreboard is what he would have wanted, ‘Canes coach Rod Brind’Amour wasn’t happy.

His ire was created by the shocking fight between Alex Ovechkin and ‘Canes promising youngster Andrei Svechnikov. Not only was it shocking because they are two of the most unlikely suspects (Ovi’s 4th career fight, Svechnikov’s 1st), but it also brought more drama than most other NHL scraps.

Unhappy with the sequence of events, Brind’Amour teed off on the Caps’ star thinking that he didn’t approach the situation fairly.
