Tom Daley is an Olympic champion and he couldn’t be more proud of the accomplishment.

Daley, who came out as gay in 2013, captured the 10-meter synchronized competition with diving partner Matty Lee in his fourth summer Olympics and wanted to share some special words with the LGBTQ+ community after capturing the competition. The 27-year-old expressed that he is “proud to be a gay man and a champion” before telling people of the community that they are not alone. Really powerful and awesome stuff from Tom!

So many people were cheering for Tom at the games but no one was prouder than is husband Dustin Lance Black, who couldn’t contain his excitement after watching Tom and Matt complete their winning dive. This right here is why we love sports!

A huge congrats to Tom on the gold, and very well said. Now go celebrate!
