Daniel Cormier made quick work of Stipe Diocic in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 226. A first-round knockout made Cormier the new UFC heavyweight champion, a title he now holds in addition to light heavyweight champion. The real action, though, came after the fight.
With Brock Lesnar in the crowd, Cormier called out the former MMA fighter and current WWE superstar in what almost felt like a shoot straight out of wrestling. Things escalated very quickly.

Firstly: “Push me now, you’ll go to sleep later” is an incredible line by Cormier. Mad respect.
This is all very surreal, with a WWE feel to the drama. We can only assume, though, that it’s for real. It appears that Lesnar has some kind of intention to challenge Cormier for the heavyweight title, which matches some of the speculation around his decision to attend UFC 226.
Whether it happens or not, it seems safe to say that the hype train got started early for that matchup.
