The Winnipeg Jets became the 3rd team to move on to the 2nd round of the NHL playoffs, beating the Minnesota Wild in a lopsided 5-0 victory to give them the 4-1 series win.

Now the Jets join a Western Conference 2nd round that already features the San Jose Sharks, the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Nashville Predators. Er, we mean… the winner of the Nashville-Colorado series.

Sorry about that, sometimes people can get a little ahead of themselves when speaking in the moment. Isn’t that right, Bryan Little?

Whoops.

At least he noticed really quick and immediately corrected himself, because over in Tennessee the Avalanche rode on the back of Andrew Hammond to a come from behind thriller victory. With Nashville-Colorado now shifting back to Denver, the performance just reassures that anything can happen in playoff hockey. If the Avs manage to win two more games, Little and the Jets may need to switch up their preparations.
