The city of Las Vegas is still mourning the horrific shootings that claimed the lives of 59 civilians at a country music festival on Sunday night. Thousands were effected by gunman’s acts, including several professional athletes.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was born in Vegas, and spoke out about the tragedies earlier this week.

They say actions speak louder than words, and the Nats superstar took it a step farther, as he paid homage to his hometown city by sporting a custom pair of cleats he wore in Game 1 of the NLDS versus the Chicago Cubs on Friday night.

The 24-year-old debuted the cleats on his Instagram account on Thursday, which feature the "Pray For Vegas" hashtag that circulated on the internet, as well as the signature “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.

Prior to the game, a moment of silence was held for the victims and the city in which Harper and fellow Las Vegas product and Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant took part in.
