The Toronto Raptors have had a busy summer so far, re-signing Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, and making two trades, the first involving DeMarre Carroll and the second involving Cory Joseph.

In the sign-and-trade that sent Joseph out of Toronto, the Raptors got forward C.J. Miles from the Indiana Pacers in return.

While Joseph was a Toronto native, Miles was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Miles is therefore not incredibly familiar with Canadian culture. Something Miles does know about Canada, however, is Canada uses the metric system. This means distance in Canada is measured in meters and kilometers rather than miles.

A sports writer by the name of Jim Gordillo decided to make the most Canadian dad joke of all-time to Miles, asking whether he would change his last name to Meters.

Miles humoured the dad joke, responding to the sports writer saying he considered the change.

Well, if he does decided to go with the change…
