Just like a catch in the NFL, goalie interference in the NHL has apparently lost its meaning and no one really knows what is and isn’t considered goalie interference anymore.

We’ve seen a lot of controversial and questionable calls made this NHL season and we still have nearly a third of the season left to play, to expect to see more before the end of the year.

On Saturday afternoon, the Edmonton Oilers paid a visit to the Arizona Coyotes and became the latest victim of a goalie interference call.

With the Oilers trailing 1-0 late in the game, they evened the score at 1 thanks to Patrick Maroon. At least that’s what they thought.

The Coyotes ended up challenging the call on the play and it ended up getting called back and Arizona went on to win 1-0. After the game Oilers goalie Cam Talbot did not hold back while speaking to the media and he went off, especially since there was some goalie interference on the Coyotes' goal.

The 30-year-old didn’t stop there, though, as he added a few more lines to his quote.

It’s been a very frustrating season for the Oilers to say the least and it doesn’t help when you’re constantly on the other side of calls and it feels like nothing is going your way.

One thing’s for sure, the NHL really needs to fix this problem as soon as possible.
