This year’s NBA Draft marked a historical evening for Canada Basketball. It not only marked the first time two Canadians went back-to-back in the NBA Draft, but it happened TWICE.

In the first round, Canada was heavily represented as Montreal’s Bennedict Mathurin was selected at sixth overall by the Indiana Pacers, with London’s Shaedon Sharpe following right after with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The second round brought even more Canadian pride as Andrew Nembhard and Caleb Houstan followed suit as the second set of back-to-back Canadians in the NBA Draft. Aurora’s Nembhard was selected 31st overall by the Pacers, while the Mississauga native Houstan went 32nd to the Orlando Magic.

What an incredible night for Canada Basketball!
