Welcome to the NFL, Chase Claypool!

The Abbostsford, BC native caught two balls for 39 yards in his Pittsburgh Steelers debut and put his sticky mitts on full display with his first NFL catch. Look, you only get one first reception so why not make it count?! Just look at the big man leap up and make an early catch-of-the-year contestant.

Doing all of us Canadians proud!

Need a little extra perspective on just how insane the catch was? Per Next Gen Stats, The throw had just a 13.8% completion probability. That is just insane.

A 49th overall pick from the 2020 draft, Claypool caught 66 balls for 1,037 and 13 touchdowns in his final season at Notre Dame. At 6’4, 238, he should have no issue snagging a few more catches this season but it might be tough to replicate his first. Don’t be surprised if that one lands in a few top tens by the end of the year.

Nicely done Chase!
