St. Louis Blues were one of the hottest teams in the NHL down the stretch but due to their slow start to the season they were unable to lock up home ice advantage for their first round series against the Winnipeg Jets. However, home ice doesn’t always guarantee a win and the Blues proved that by stealing a victory over the Jets in Game 1 of their series.

Although the Blues happened to be playing more than 1,300 km away from home on Wednesday night, the fans back home in St. Louis still cheered loud and clear for their boys while they were at a different sporting event.

With the St. Louis Cardinals leading the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-2, in the top of the ninth inning, the Cardinals faithful started a ‘Let’s Go Blues!’ after finding out their team had just taken a 2-1 lead late in the game.

The St. Louis #Blues score late to defeat the Winnipeg #Jets and take a 1-0 series lead.

If that’s how loud Cardinals fans were just wait until the team’s playing in a building full of Blues fans.
