It’s been a season to forget for the Philadelphia Flyers as they entered Tuesday night’s contest against the Detroit Red Wings in last place in the Eastern Conference. One of the biggest reasons for the Flyers’ early struggles is due to the large amount of injuries in between the pipes as Carter Hart became the sixth goalie to start for Philadelphia this year and the calendar hasn’t even turned over to 2019 yet.

Not only did Hart hold his own in his NHL debut, but he helped the Flyers put an end to their four-game losing skid as the 20-year-old stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced to earn his first career win.

No NHL debut would be complete without family members in the crowd watching on and Hart had some of his closest supporters in attendance to witness his first taste of the NHL and he shared a special moment with them after the game.

His family members almost seemed more excited about Hart’s first NHL win than the 20-year-old was, but at the end of the day it’s got to feel pretty good to pick up a win in the league you’ve always dreamed of playing in.
