Saturday night, the Canadiens and Bruins added another chapter to their rivalry, but what happened during the second period brought the fans and players of both teams together along with the rest of the hockey world.
During the second period, Phillip Danault took a Zdeno Chara slapshot to the head and was down on the ice for a long time before being stretchered off.
It was a scary scene to say the least, but the support from the hockey world has been tremendous and the support, class and sportsmanship shown from Chara was also touching.
Them, at the star of the 3rd period, Chara asked Jordie Benn how Danault was.
After the game, Chara was asked about the scary and unfortunate injury and he wished Danault a speedy recovery.
We, along with the rest of the hockey world, wish Danault a fast and speedy recovery as well.
