The Notre Dame Fighting Irish went head-to-head against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday afternoon and it was not the start the home team was looking for.
With the game still scoreless early on in the first quarter, the Demon Deacons decided to attempt a 37-yard field goal on 4th and 6, only they forgot to send out a key person for the play. The kicker.
While Wake Forest was looking to strike first in the game, freshman kicker Nick Sciba was still over on the sidelines getting some practice kicks in on the net. As soon as he realized he was supposed to be out on the field, he managed to get out and kick the ball before tim expired on the play clock, only he ended up shanking the kick.
It hasn’t been the greatest day for the freshman.
