Kyle Palmieri is officially a New York Islander and you better believe he had to clean up his look upon arrival.

Hockey fans, part curly those from Leafs nation, know very well that Isles general manager keeps things clean. The flow can’t get too out of hand and beards are a no-no, which happened to be a bit of an issue for our guy Kyle. So, the 30-year-old wasted no time and shaved the whole thing off, but there was just one issue… the eyebrows stayed intact, and if we’re being honest, Kyle’s got enough hair above his eyes for two people.

Former Leafs defenceman Connor Carrick, who knows a thing or two about playing for the legendary GM, took notice and just had to take the opportunity to shred him.

Well done here, Connor. When the opportunity’s there… take it!

Palmieri, along with teammate Travis Zajac were shipped to the Isles on Wednesday in exchanged for a 2021 1st round pick, 2022 4th round pick, A.J. Greer and Mason Joebst. A 26th overall pick by the Anaheim Ducks back in 2009, Palmieiri has scored at least 24 goals over the past five seasons in New Jersey and will be welcomed with open arms to an Islanders team who’s scoring the 15th most goals per game at 2.95. Hopefully the change in facial flow doesn’t have a negative impact on his game…

Beard or not, we have a feeling Palmieri is going to be just fine. Thanks for the laugh, Connor!
