This past week, the World Junior Summer Showcase took place in Plymouth, Michigan.

Among the team's competing were the United States (two teams), Canada, Finland and Sweden.

Used as an evaluation by the organizing bodies of the respective countries, the tournament aims at identifying potential players for the World Junior tournament.

The 2020 tournament takes place in the Czech Republic, and with Canada failing to medal on home soil in the 2019 tournament in Vancoyver, the management group consisting of Mark Hunter and his brother Dale as the head coach will be highly motivated to make the Canadians walk away with a gold medal around their neck.

But with the tournament still four and a half months away, the Hunter brothers and their staff will have plenty of time to evaluate and work their depth charts to see who will get the special chance to wear the maple leaf.

TSN's Director of Scouting, Craig Button, colour commentated the showcase and put together an early projection of who he thinks will be on the team.

Returnees Alexis Lafreniere, Joe Veleno, Barrett Hayton, Ty Smith, Jared McIssac are virtual locks to make it. Keep in mind, some of the players below will be in the NHL, or could end up injured from now until December, or see their stock plummet.

Are there any players that Craig missed? Who would you add and subtract?
