Ahead of the Miami Heat’s season opener, Florida Panthers centre Aleksander Barkov reached out to the Heat on social media to wish them luck heading into the 2018-19 season and to let them know he’s available if they need another shooting guard.

This past weekend, the 23-year-old finally got to take in a Heat game as he attended Miami’s game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday night, and he ended up in the spotlight. However, it wasn’t because he was an NHL superstar taking in the game from his courtside seats, it was because he took a knee to the head from three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade during an attempt to keep the ball in play.

On Monday night, the 12-time NBA All-Star reached out to Barkov on Twitter to make sure he was alright and that they’re still friends after accidentally kneeing the Panthers sniper in the head, and the exchange was fantastic.

At least now it will be easy to spot Barkov in the crowd at any upcoming Miami Heat games as he’ll be the guy sitting courtside with a helmet on.
