The Sedin twins shocked the hockey world when they announced their retirement from the NHL. They waited until there were only a few games left in the season to let people know that they would not be returning to the team, eliminating any chance of an extended Jeter-Kobe style farewell tour.

Honestly, what else would you expect from the humble duo? The pair has always been known for their soft-spoken nature, and they’ve never been players who hunt for the spotlight – despite being two of the best NHLers to ever slip on a Canucks jersey.

Saying that, they’re 37 years old. It wasn’t expected that they would be in the league much longer, but they probably had another year or two left in the tank. When asked if a return from retirement is an option, Daniel Sedin had a very honest, and heartwarming response.

The Sedin twins never seemed to be in it for the padded stats or the personal glory, and this latest response is a testament to that nature. As expected, ‘Nucks fans experienced a little heart-melt from the family-man answer.
