Before JJ Watt left Houston and Deshaun Watson made his trade request, DeAndre Hopkins was the first star to leave the Texans in a trade before last season that returned David Johnson, a second round pick and a fourth round pick to Houston.

In his first season with Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, Hopkins did not disappoint. With 115 receptions for 1,407 yards as well as six touchdowns, he made his case as one of the NFL’s best receivers... and now he’s looking to say ‘I told you so’ to his former team, rubbing it in for letting him go in exchange for a second rounder.

Hey, nothing wrong with a bit of vindication! While Hopkins thrived in Arizona, the Texans had a disappointing season that saw them fall short of the playoffs by a wide margin.

The situation that Hopkins left in Houston is becoming quite complicated, with Watson asking out and things unclear about whether or not the Texans will grant his trade request, but that’s not his problem.

No, instead, Hopkins can just look forward to another season of putting smiles on the face of his quarterback.
