Paying homage to Toronto Raptors history, DeMar DeRozan shared an image on Instagram of noteworthy Raptors alumni Percy Miller -- also known by his stage name as a legendary hip-hop and business mogel, Master P. “Mood...” wrote DeRozan.

Mood...

A deep cut for even the most diehard of Raptors fans, Master P played for Toronto during the 1999 preseason. Though his basketball career is far down the list of things that he’s known for, he did play a few seasons in two now-defunct American basketball leagues: the Continental Basketball Association and the International Basketball League.

DeRozan’s post is probably not so much about the Master P basketball trivia, though, so much as it is a tribute to one of the most legendary ever to grace the rap game -- who also happens to be a close and personal friend.

Early on in his basketball life, when he was a teenager playing at the AAU level, DeRozan was teammates and close friends with Master P’s son, Romeo Miller, and his team was sponsored by Master P himself. That early brush-up with fame is the reason that DeRozan is so grounded today despite his celebrity status, according to Yahoo! Sports. Not a bad way to gain a perspective on life.

Make ‘em say uhh!, DeRozan.
