It’s not every day that the tennis world and the hockey world collide, but it happened when Connor McDavid paid a visit to France during the French Open.

The Edmonton Oilers superstar has quickly become one of the most dominant players in the league. He’s only 21 years old, but he’s already one of most feared players to ever lace ‘em up. His mixture of size, speed, hands, and hockey IQ make for a lethal combination, and nobody has figured out how to stop it.

Denis Shapovalov can relate. Or at least, he believes that he can.

Shapovalov told TSN's Mark Masters believes that his rise to stardom can be likened to McDavid’s. While he acknowledges that McDavid’s has been much more extreme, the two stars rose up the rankings in their respective sport while they were still teenagers.

McDavid gave Shapo some praise, saying that he’s a very exciting player. The two buddies have a mutual respect for each other as athletes, and it will be exciting to see how they both develop in their sport with age.
