There’s a lot of ways to make an impression in your debut, and today, DK Metcalf showed us a new one.

The 21-year-old Ole Miss alum was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of this year’s draft, and there’s been some considerable hype surrounding the young wide receiver heading into this season.

He didn’t disappoint, and in his debut against Cincinnati, contributed 4 catches for 89 yards to a 21-20 win.

While he impressed on the field, he also made an impression with an interesting choice of equipment. Or do we count this as an accessory?

Metcalf wore a mouthguard that looked exactly like a soother (pacifier, teether?), and while we’re not sure what his angle was, it was definitely hilarious.

We can’t decide if this is a nod to his age when compared to most players in the league, or some rookie dare tasked to him by one of the Seahawks vets, or maybe even a crybaby joke in regards to some recent happenings among fellow wide receivers.

Whatever the case, he’s definitely made himself memorable.
