After 11 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs, where he served as head coach, general manager, and eventually president - Doug Gilmour has announced that he’s returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.

Through an open letter told to Dan Robson of the Athletic, Gilmour announced that he’d be returning to the Maple Leafs as a community representative.

A fan favourite among Leafs fans after his seven seasons spent there, three of which he served as captain, Toronto is excited to have him back with the blue and white.

Gilmour spent some time behind the bench with the Leafs AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies,  before he headed to Kingston. He’ll join Darryl Sittler, Wendel Clark, Darcy Tucker, and CuJo as a community ambassador.
