Thursday night was one to remember for Ottawa Senators rookie Drake Batherson. The only problem is that he might not actually be able to recall some of it.

The 2017 4th round pick scored in his NHL debut on his first shot in a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings. After being named the first star of the game, Batherson was asked about the rip but had a tough time recalling the exact events that took place. The 20-year-old confessed that he simply “blacked out”, kind of like that Will Ferrell guy in Old School

If you forget the clip or just haven’t seen Old School don’t worry, we gotchu! Basically Will Ferrell is forced to engage in a debate with CNN’s James Carville and after delivering an empowering speech, he too admitted that he blacked out.

Ya can’t make this up!

Batherson eventually gave a more elaborate reflection of the night with TSN’s Brent Wallace, saying that the goal stands out as the number one of his career to date.

Batherson on first NHL goal: 'I've been dreaming about this my whole life'

The 6’2 forward played a huge role for Canada at the 2018 World Juniors, scoring 7 goals in seven games en route to winning a gold medal. We have a feeling this goal was just the first of many to come.
